IS THERE A STRAIGHT GRAIN VERSION OF THE SIDING BOARDS?

Currently we only offer the wood grain pattern on our siding boards. The straight grain can be requested as Special Order and have the same 2400 linear feet and 16 week lead time restrictions.

IN WHAT LENGTHS DO NEWTECHWOOD SIDING BOARDS COME IN?

They come in 8-foot and 16-foot lengths. Longer lengths (usually 20 feet) are available as a Special Order, with the same restrictions as Special Order colors, specifically a minimum order of 2400 linear feet (1000 square feet), a 16 week lead time, and a 30% deposit. Special Order lengths may only be purchased directly or through a local distributor. They are not available through Home Depot.

WOULD THESE DECK TILES BLOW AWAY IN THE WIND?

We do not believe this is likely as each deck tile is 2.5 lbs., so a 100 square foot deck would be 250 lbs., and quite difficultly to easily move. Additionally, the gaps between deck tiles make it difficult for the wind to catch enough of the deck surface to move it.

WHAT ARE THE GRASS TILES MADE OF?

The grass of the grass tile is made of recycled PET plastic.

MY DECK HAS UNEVEN CORNERS. WILL YOUR PRODUCT INSTALL PROPERLY IN THE 45-DEGREE CORNERS?

You are welcome to install our deck tiles on surfaces without clear 90-degree angles. However, to do so, you would need to cut the deck tiles. You can find detailed cutting instructions here: https://www.newtechwood.com/pdf/UltraShield-Deck-Tile-Installation.pdf and in the installation video: https://youtu.be/a1fpinb5fJs at 1:50 mark. Please note that removing the dove tail connectors would limit your ability to connect trim or fascia.

IN WHAT COLORS ARE THE 1’X2’ DECK TILES AND THE 1’X3’ DECK TILES AVAILABLE?

The 1’x2’ deck tiles are available in Brazilian Ipe, Hawaiian Charcoal, Peruvian Teak, Roman Antique, Spanish Walnut, and Westminster Gray. The 1’x3’ deck tiles are available in Brazilian Ipe, Peruvian Teak, Roman Antique, and Westminster Gray

HOW WIDE ARE THE SLATS OF THE DECK TILES? HOW WIDE ARE THE GAPS?

The slats (boards) of the deck tiles are 2.75’’ wide. The gaps are 0.2’’ inches wide. With 4 slats and 5 gaps, this comes to a total of 12’’.

HOW THICK ARE THE DECK TILES?

The deck tiles are 0.88 inches thick.

HOW MUCH WEIGHT DO THE DECK TILES HOLD?

You can estimate about 1000 lbs per square foot to be supported by the deck tiles. However, this largely depends on the surface on which the deck tiles are placed upon. For example, a concrete surface would be much stronger than a wooden deck. For especially large items, such as hot tubs, or sculptures, we would recommend cutting around the base, and placing on the surface beneath rather than the deck tiles themselves. Most common deck additions such as tables, benches, chairs, and other similar furniture should therefore be OK. Please reach out via our contact form (https://www.newtechwood.com/contact/) if you have any specific additions you may be concerned about.

HOW MUCH DO THE 1’X1’ DECK TILES WEIGH, BOTH INDIVIDUALLY AND AS A BOX OF 10?

There is a weight of roughly 2.5 lbs per deck tile (and therefore per square foot) so a box of 10 deck tiles, or 10 square feet of deck tile, is 25 lbs.
