FAQ Category: Railing

WHEN WILL NEWTECHWOOD RAILING COME BACK IN STOCK?

Our railing and post kits are now back in stock

WHAT IS THE SPACING BETWEEN BALUSTERS?

The space between the balusters is 3.7 inches between balusters, except for the very last ones next to the post, which are 4 inches.

DOES THE RAILING KIT INCLUDE PARTS TO INSTALL RAILING FOR STAIRS?

The connections for the railing are on a hinge so the railing hardware kit does come with the parts to do either straight or stairs.

DO YOU OFFER 8-FOOT RAILING?

At the moment, NewTechWood does not offer 8-foot railing, only 6-foot railing.

COULD I RUN AN ELECTRIC LINE THROUGH THE RAILING POST FROM THE RAILING KITS, TO INSTALL LIGHTING?

Yes, this would be fine.

CAN YOU CREATE NON-90-DEGREE ANGLES BETWEEN THE NEWTECHWOOD RAILING AND POST KITS?

Our railing kits do not come with any way to create non-90-degree angles. You may consider third party modifications that allow for this. One customer was also able to create a solution by using a 4×4 post, cutting it at 45 degrees, and attaching it to the post kit.

CAN THE RAILING BE CUT TO A SHORTER LENGTH?

Yes, that would be fine.

CAN I BUY EXTRA HARDWARE FOR RAILING?

To order extra hardware, please reach out to us directly via our contact form: https://www.newtechwood.com/contact/. Please be sure to specify which pieces you need and how many, referring to the parts guide on page 4 of the installation guide (see https://www.newtechwood.com/pdf/36_inches_Hybrid_Composite_Railing_Installation_Guide.pdf).. Please keep in mind that we have limited stock of these parts, and that we may charge for shipping.

CAN I ATTACH THE POSTS TO THE DECK TILE OR THE DECK BOARDS?

No, we recommend attaching them to the frame of the deck, directly, as this is safer and more secure. You can install the bolts through the deck boards or deck tiles, into the frame, if you would like, but please be sure to pre-drill and ensure the weight of the posts is supported by the frame itself.
